Youth Programming

Hill Library Youth Services aims to enrich the growth and education of each young reader who visits. Read below to learn more about our Story Time offerings, Library Club, and other Youth Events! 

Youth Programs

Story Time
Mondays at 10:00am

Join us at 10 am on Mondays! All ages welcome. There will be no Story Time on Monday, October 12th.

Apple Picking
Story Time Field Trip
at 9am

Meet at 9am at Butternut Farm in Farmington for a fun field trip! We’ll read a story, meet some animals, and learn about picking apples. Each child will get a small bag to pick their own apples. Families are welcome to pick more after the program at farm prices. Registration is required, please email cbeihl.hl@gmail.com to register before October 7th.

Music & Movement
Every other Thursday
at 10:00am

Let’s move and groove with songs, scarves, egg shakers, and our parachute! All ages welcome. Music and Movement will meets every other Thursday, alternating with Sensory Playtime.

Sensory Playtime
Every other Thursday
at 10:00am

Join us every other Thursday for some sensory play fun! We’ll have playdough, kinetic sand, pom-poms, and all sorts of other rotating activities. Practice fine motor skills and explore the world! There will be no Sensory Playtime on October 1st for our new carpet installation.

Read to Toby
Tuesday, October 20th
Starting at 3:30pm

Pokémon Club
First Friday of the Month
at 5pm

Join us the first Friday of the month to trade, play, and chat all things Pokémon!

Grades 5+ Games
Fridays
at 3:30pm

Middle schoolers in grades 5 and up are welcome to walk up from school for some fun games and tasty snacks! Every Friday during the school year. 

Grades 4-6 Graphic Novel Club
Tues. October 6
at 5:30pm

Join us for some book club fun! We’ll be discussing Long Distance by Whitney Gardner, enjoying some snacks, and doing a fun activity. Copies are available at the library.

Grades 7+ Book Club
Thurs. October 8
at 5:30pm

Join us for this new book club for youth in 7th grade and up! Eat snacks, do an activity, and chat about our book of the month. This month’s book is graphic novel Anya’s Ghost by Vera Brosgol.

Library Club

Library Club is an after school enrichment program at Hill Library in Strafford. Grades 1 and 2 meet on Mondays, and Grades 3+ meet Wednesdays. Library staff will pick children up from school at dismissal and walk them up to the library for a story, snack, and special activities. Email cbeihl.hl@gmail.com to get on the email list and receive the sign up links.

 You do not need to have a library card to participate.
