3D Printer FAQs:
How much does it cost to print something?
There is a base fee of $1.00, plus 10 cents per gram of material used. For example: A print takes 32 grams of material to print. That is $3.20 for the material fee, plus $1.00 base fee, for a total of $4.20 for the print. Most designs will be less than $5.00 to print. We can accept cash or check, prints are paid for at the front desk upon pickup.
How do I request a 3D print?
Read the 3D printing policy below, then send us an email at hill3dprinting@gmail.com. Please include the following:
-Your name, email, and phone number
-Choose one color from the following:
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Black, White, Iridescent Pink, Iridescent Navy, and Color-Change Glow
-The .stl or .obj file with the 3D model you would like printed
-Any other details regarding the print
Where do I find things to print?
We recommend Thingiverse.com for ready-to-print models, or Tinkercad.com if you’d like to make your own creations!
How do I know what models on Thingiverse will print well?
Some tips are to look for models with at least a few “Makes.” This tells us that it is possible to successfully print that design.
